A quote from a NC Suzuki Teacher who recently took Music Mind Games Unit 1:
“As a youth orchestra conductor and private violin teacher for over 40 years, I have always felt it was important for my Suzuki students to learn music theory so they had the knowledge to read music well. I have tried a variety of games myself but Muisc Mind Games gave me a curriculum with fantastic materials and wonderful fun games for the kids to play. After taking a workshop and then completing Unit 1 training; I now use it regularly in lessons and in group class. It adds variety to my teaching in an educationally appropriate progression of activities and we all have fun.”

Suzuki Early Childhood Education Stage 1

There are only a few spots left for this unique Suzuki Early Childhood Education Stage 1 training in Raleigh, April 1-5! Registration increases after February 1, so register today!

We have Danette Warren, a fabulous teacher trainer from Houston Texas coming up for the week. She has worked very closely with the SAA for years to develop and revise their materials, and is an absolute delight to work with!

These all-day trainings will be held at the Montessori School of Raleigh (7005 Lead Mine Rd, Raleigh, 27615). This course is a SAA approved training, and will appear on your bio upon completion.

The course fee will be $650 ($700 if registering after February 1). Max registration is 15, so please get your registration form and fee and in ASAP to secure your spot. (All payment info is on the registration form).

For those not familiar with SECE, this is the Suzuki approach to working with children ages 0 to 3, teaching Suzuki philosophy, developing many of the early skills that will help with language development and school readiness, and hopefully also prepare them for private lessons. Dr. Suzuki once told Dorothy Jones, the founder of SECE, “ Please don’t forget the babies!” You can see many articles and videos in the SAA website-

https://suzukiassociation.org/ece/about/

Nancy Brown has graciously been working to put all of this together. Please contact Nancy at nancywbrown@gmail.com with any questions. We hope you will seriously consider this wonderful opportunity! And look forward to hearing from you soon.

Music Mind Games workshop

This 6 hour workshop is an introduction to Music Mind Games. We will do at least 10 games, but if teachers come with questions, we might do 20 games! I want to use this to serve the teachers. Whether they are teaching in a string orchestra class, private lessons in a school or at home, we can adapt and come up with ideas on how to best use these games to your teaching practice.

We will do the workshop in my studio in Charlotte and some will also be joining online. We will have 2 screens online and record it as well.
